About the Author

I was born under a thatched roof in Ireland, in 1983. I grew up with my mum, Eithne, my dad, Tony, my brother, Gary and our pet leprechaun, Jim, in Co. Roscommon, surrounded in fields of shamrock and four-leaf clover. I was always a dreamer. A stargazer. A fantasizer. A doodler! Lucky for me, I had a family and teachers who nurtured my creativity. I sang, wrote songs and played guitar. This led to many years of performing as a singer and actor for audiences on both land and sea. 

​As a little girl I loved diving head-first into a mountain of books. My granny, Tess Murphy, was the town librarian. She wasn’t your typical stuck-in-the-mud ssshhing librarian. Oh no! She was more the warm and fuzzy, keep-your-books-as-long-as-you-want librarian. I spent hours up there with my granny - reading, putting away books and watching the world go by.

​I graduated from the Cork School of Music with a bachelor’s degree. While studying I met a boy, named Niall. We were destined for America. There we collected cows, and children. Three children to be exact! Three children who would remind me of my love for books. 

​I currently live in Carthage, MO with Niall, our twin girls Chloe & Tess, and our son Noel. I like going to the theater, drinking tea and hanging out with my family. I am hopeful that I will continue to live happily ever after.
